Yes, i'm sure im not the only one who does it, but i don't think i've seen a thread about it on here yet, so i thought i'd share it. It's simply, a water bottle. Yes, a water bottle with two holes punctured on opposite ends towards the cone part of the top. The fish in its original water goes in the bottle (needs to be a pretty small fish/fry) with about 1/6 of the bottle with the original water. Lay it horizontally with one hole above water and one hole below water. Lay your glass top on top of the bottle so that the water level in the bottle is below the water level of the tank and soon, by way of pressure, the bottle will begin slowly filling up with water at a steady and slow pace, perfect for acclimation. And it automatically stops when the water is at equilibrium (at the same level) in the bottle and outside of the bottle. Simple idea, simple project. Here's some pics. I have a couple mosquito fish fry that i scooped up during a waterchange in my nano-pond and decided to grow them out in my 40 gallon and then re-introduce them because they'll probably not last long in the pond.
*Edit: I said it was only for small fish, but I guess, in theory you could do it with larger fish, you'd just need a larger bottle or container.
