I have had this guy for 26 weeks and he hasn't grown a half inch. Does he look alright to you? All my other pleco are growing so much faster and all were the same size as this guy. He currently is close to 2"
That is L114. Is he being out competed for food? How big is the tank? 26 weeks seems a long time with no noticeable growth at that size. Any stringy white poo that would indicate internal parasites? If it were me i would probably stick him in a smaller tank solo for a while so i could make sure he was eating his fill and let him grow a bit... But don't know if that is an option for you. Looks healthy otherwise....
If it was about 1.5" when you bought it half a year ago it should be easily +2.5" by now. When I sell fry at 6-7 months they are 2-2.5". As suggested try moving it to a tank with less competition but odds are 50/50 it won't grow any larger.
Personally I learned to resist the urge to make the quick buck and do not sell my pseudas to individuals under 2". This means I hold onto them for a few more months but they do a lot better. They are much stronger and healthier with the extra time and size. Once they reach 4" it seems like they are almost indestructible in a maintained tank.
Look at his belly if it is not sunk in then he is fine. Fish are like people we all don't grow at the same rate. If his belly is sunk in then he is probably getting the measly left overs.
Thanks for the replies. He was my first pleco in the tank and has been in the 75g since it was set up. I'll switch him over to the 20g with the electric blue acaras and see how he does. Just really worried me. I NEVER see this pleco and when I do he's always the same exact size.
Finally dug him out of his little hole in the rock. Also found a l262 in one of the holes. This guy has been in here a couple months too. I forgot about him! Both got transfered to the 20gallon with the fire eel and electric blue acara babies
