I have two oscars who love to tear apart my plastic plants. I fix them and the next day they are floating all over the surface. They are the plants that have the male and female end that plug together. I was wondering would it be possible and safe to superglue the plugs together? Or would it be toxic? I could place the plants around my jaguars domain. He gets pretty pissed when the oscars get near his territory. If anyone has any advice or feedback it would be much appreciated. I have spent over $100 just on freeking plastic plants that end up demolished. Thanks!

Ive always just used Silicone, may not be super quick like super glue. But its safe.

Ive heard superglue and epoxies are safe.
I have the same problem with my oscar but I figure if I do glue them He actually will break them

You heard wrong on superglue being safe in aquariums. Cyanoacrylate in its common available form is toxic to aquaria inhabitants. There is a type out there that uses a different type of alcohol carrier, from ethyl or methyl alcohol to butyl or octyl. This compound difference becomes less toxic to tissue. This type is expensive and not available over-the-counter. It's still in trial phases for closing wounds instead of using sutures.
Silicone sealer doesn't actually adhere, or bond, with the plastic in fake plants. It soon separates easily. You'd be better off using a clear PVC cement. Once cured, the PVC cement is inert, safe for aquarium use, and actually bonds to plastic.

Well, I used Cyano-based super glue to glue coral frags to live rock in my nano reef. It worked great, no bad effects from it. Cyano based super glue is what is recommended by a lot of people who frag coral. I don't see why it would be different in a freshwater tank.

Not to go off topic but lots of people use superglue to close wounds now,dr told me to close cracks in my heel with it.

The pvc cement is the best idea, but I still think the oscars are gonna rip the plants to bits

I referred to surgical wounds that would normally be closed with sutures. And please...
