Supplementing young datnoid with feeders

Hi all,

I have a 2" Indo datnoid currently eating hikari carnivore, shrimp and earthworms, I was wondering if it would be advantageous to feed him feeders every once in a while especially for stability and faster growth rates. Would he start refusing other foods after being fed feeders?

I have a large filtered pond of small native fish (forgot what they were called) in my backyard which have a stable breeding population I could get my feeders from.

In my experience nothing will get a young dat growing faster than good quality pellets which is what you seem to be feeding it.Shrimp and earthworms would be a treat and I would leave it at that.
