supressing fx5 outlet

hi, i love the output of my fx5 but there is too much flow / water movment from the output

has anyone supressed the output in anyway so it could potentially be used on a smaller tank ?

any ideas / sugestions ?

for example ( and i doubt i would try this ) but putting a sock over the outlet would probably do it but it would likley clog quickly

DIY spray bar would reduce the velocity
