How much surface agitation (for aeration) is recommended for gars? I know they like/prefer stagnate water/slow current, does that go for the surface as well?

the latter, they breath atmospheric air so aeration is really not very necessary

i have a good amount of current surface and main dosn't phase the gar in the tank...they live in rivers also so current is all on you, just not rapids...

i only have some so debris isnt stagnent on the top. i had mine for months in a perfectly calm tank. well no surface aggitation is what i mean. they are all fine!
