please help i was told that i need to have a tank 9ft (2750mm) in length minimum for my arrow to swim round in.

my question is it the surface are that counts or length of tank?

would a square tank with a smaller length but the same surface area be ok?

p.s hi to all i'm john from uk

i have silver arrowana, pacu, rtc, tiger shovel nose, datnoid, royal knife, albino oscar, green severums and royal plec.
not all in same tank though

Go wide rather than high (for fish to turn around more confortably). If you can can get 4' then good on you. 3' is still good. Length wise, 9' is more than adequate for a silver

But, we would like to see your fish and your setups.

The Minimum for an Asian aro is 60 inches long 30 inches wide 26 inches tall if you ca go 6 foot long with the same hight and width it's pefect.
If your talking about Silver aros you need to be 7 foot minimum in lenth with the same hight width, 9 foot long is perfect.

, but id prefer something like 8' long by 4' wide, by 3' high.
