So I added a spray bar to my 200 gallon tank, the old inlet was too strong and no fish would use that 1/4 of the tank anyway spray bar works great! But it just seems that the clean water is going straight to the overflow, I'm adding some air stones to help "lift " the floor water will this work or do I need a water pump on the bottom? 200 gallon with sump 1200 gph, fw with fahaka puffer sand substrate

Thanks y'all for your advise

Can the spraybar be moved away from the overflow? I WOULDN'T add air to move debris from the bottom...you would need a ton of air. I would put a circulation pump, suggest a Koralia and position it (or them) to move the debris, not the sand. The Koralia circ pumps move a wide stream of water as apposed to a concentrated stream like a powerhead.

when i had my 500 i had issues with poo collection. i ran a spraybar the length of the tank with one bank of holes aimed toward the surface and another bank down the back glass and would push stuff from the bottom pretty well.

My bar is on the left the over flow far right but it is moving the substrate surface enough to pick up the poo
