Hey guys, has anyone tried using this for their fish equipments? It clearly states that it shouldn't be used for any aquarium equipments or other water related equipments, but was wandering if people had no problems using this? Its readily available for my use so ya. Location of it will be inside my tank stand near the sump area so there will be moisture for sure. Any thoughts, or suggestions on what brand/type of power tap i should use?

I have my Eheim 2217 on my Belkin and it's working great. I never noticed that warning but then again I don't read the instructions on common products. They may have put that warning on there for liability reasons. Belkin makes decent stuff in my experience. You may want to go with APC or Tripp Lite, they are good brands for surge protectors. Try to place the surge protector in as dry a place as possible and with a drip loop on all power cords including the one from the surge protector itself.

Hey thanks fry, thats what i thought too so instead of buying another 10 outlet powertap i figured this would work fine.

Also what do you mean by drip loop? Like have the cords going down just incase moisture drips to the inside of the plug?

Well the most efficient place to have this for me is inside my stand where a sump is located. The sump is fairly covered to minimize moisture, as well as the back being almost if not half way covered only...would this work fine you think?

Yep, that's exactly what a drip loop is. I think it should work fine in your stand but I would take as few risks as possible when it comes to water, electricity, and of course fish.

I have been using one for about a year on a tank, no issues. I find it nice having everything on individual switches.
