Isla Taboga Panama via Milwaukee
Got a call from my regular cab driver Fri. night, who said Jose' the cargo guy had caught a bucket of fish me, and could I come to the mainland Sunday morning and pick them up.
Showed up about 9 Am to find this.

He said there were 17 animals in the bucket, including 2 different Chupapiedras (stone suckers,(Plecos & Gobies)), 10 Chogorros (the generic term here for small cichlids) and a couple different kinds of camarones (shrimp).
The cichlids all appear to be Panamanian Green Terrors (Andinoacara coeruleopunctatus).
The 2 Chupadiedra's are a
Panamanian Pleco (Hypostomus panamensis).

A goby Awaous transandeanus
1364147
and two species of shrimp

Jose' is a nice person to do something like that. What will you keep?

Awesome! That goby is really interesting, have not seen that species before. And I am jealous that you have central American plecos available, it is very difficult to find an algae eater in the states that fits a CA biotope!
Will be interested to see if Jose can find you any other species of chogorro!

I have too many Andinoacara at the moment, so some may need to be given to people here on the island with fountains, as mosquito controllers.
I really like the Goby, it has been somewhere in seclusion so far, and although I usually think of Plecos as more trouble than they are worth, and consummate waste producers, it is interesting change of pace.
I was hoping there might be a different cichlid species, but not yet.

Haha. I love this title. Will this be something that will happen more often now that you have your tank up and running? You might need to ship in another tank soon if so. Lol. Nice score.

If I had a bigger tank, loiselliwould work, but I consider the 180 to small for them, umbriferurm and another Panamanian endemic Vieja maculacuada.
My holy grail Panamanians, would to get Isthmoheros tuyrensus, Geophagus crassilabrus, and Darienoheros calobrensis, and they might just fit.
I had given him photos of those, but no luck yet.
The Awaous is just starting to feel less paranoid, but still hugging the back wallnot enough to get decent pics yet.
