I have 6 convicts in my tank, 2 males and 4 females. They are about 1.5" and one of my females paired up with a male and laid eggs!!

I had NO IDEA it was possible at that size, is it possible that these might actually hatch?

I have only had these guys for a month or so and thought they were just babies at 1"!!

Well, I am happy though, it is kinda exciting!

I just read that if eggs are white that means they are dead... Most of mine are a clear color, but some are white.. is that bad?

If it's their first time, it's normal to lose some, and sometimes all of the eggs. Don't sweat it, they'll be at it again in a week or two. Practice makes perfect. Congrats bro.

Thanks!! I hope some survive, but I am afraid I am going to have to set up another tank cause I have fish that will eat the surviving babies.. I better hurry!!

I've heard of cons spawning at less than an inch (3/4" for males and 1/2" for females) although I've never seen it with my own eyes. They don't get very big, so they become sexually mature at a smaller size.
