I have two separate pairs of breeding tapajos. 1 pair in a 20L that just spawned this morning and another pair that just spawned for the 1st time last week in a 135 with other fish in it. The female in the 135 is holding the eggs now. The pair in the 135 spawned on a small flat piece of petrified wood 1"x3". Since they are spawning close to the same time and if it continues I was thinking of removing the small piece of petrified wood with eggs on it from the 135 and laying right next to the clutch of eggs in the 20L and see if the parents in the 20L will accept the clutch and tend to them. Anyone ever try this or heard of it working? I attached a pic of the pair in the 135 spawning with gills flaired and visible ovipositor. The small piece of petrified wood is out of sight below the level of the tank frame. Thanks MFKers

This is a good Q. Iv never heard of it. But if you do try it. Then try and move the parents in the 20L to a corner away from the eggs, put the new batch as close so it looks like 1 big batch. But do it out of sight of the parents. It may work. I moved my parent kribs to there own tank, then the fry, and they accepted them
Back. So i dont see why it cant work

I feel like they would know that they're not their eggs just like a parent would know it's not their baby. But you could try it. I'd be curious to see the end result
