So let me start by saying Les is better than Bear, who spends his time peeing on himself to help cool off or doing ninja flips over chasms or climbing sheer cliffs and a lot of silly stuff that isn't really helpful. Plus there have been reports that he stays at hotels at night with his crew and the show is largely faked.

On to Survivor man: He is always STARVING! The scavenged items he finds usually just done for the gross out factor. It seems that every episode he starves himself for 7 days except for maybe a rat he catches under a rock or some pond scum soup or something. And why does he spend ALL DAY building a shelter that is never more than a couple of branches on a log? No Teepees or anything practical to shield him from the environment. No effort at comfort, he sleeps on jagged rocks more often than anything else. Too bad there aren't shows made by Indians or real survival experts and not just some guy starving himself for a week.

There was one where he tried "flintnapping" a fish hook and ended up with a 3" plastic rectangle tied on the end of a rope and was shocked he didn't catch any fish in alaska while every couple of seconds you can see fish jumping out of the water behind him.

Oh and what is his deal with sweat? He goes on and on about he can't sweat or he will surely die at night. Why not sweat a little and build a better shelter or catch some food and dry out cloths before dark?!?!

Bah..

lol i remember the alaska one he would of had better luck spearing a salmon

Exactly! he had a kayak, they were almost jumping in the boat with him but he still starved for 7 days except for picking at a fish carcass he found. That was also the one he set his shelter on fire in the night which my wife who knows NOTHING about camping or survival was screaming at the TV that the fire was hitting the log over his head. Hilarious.. "That has NEVER happened before! the wood caught on fire!"

Oh and the one where he spent like 5-6 nights under a viper nest and he didn't check to see if it was occupied until like the next to last day.

I caught a few Dual Survivals... Had a few laughs at those two guys bickering over the finer points of building a lean to.
