Suspicious Death - Red Jewel

I have had my jewel cichlid for three years, he lives with a GT, Geo, Pictus catfish and a Pleco. There were rarely if ever any fights in the tank. Last night I noticed that my jewel was very pale and looked as if he had several damaged spots where his scales were missing. I checked the water perimeters which are listed below and performed a large water change anyway. Upon waking up this morning I found my jewel dead. I am wondering if he was battered by another fish or if he was sick?

I'd say the Gt did it, some can be quite nasty

I'm thinking you're right Crazy mike. Up until January I had a large and older Oscar in the tank who definitely ruled things and kept the peace. After his death the gt was the largest fish and took control.
