My lfs got in some sveni pikes and i was wondering how aggresive they are. Also what size tank and they would require for life.

i got a small one a few weeks back. so far no real aggression out of him. he is small still though. they get about 12 or so, so something that is 18" wide will do. mine is in a 125g
12" would be one big sveni... usually they max out at around 10". i think you can house him for life in a 55 but i would definitely recommend a 75 over a 55. the added width helps alot IMO.
my sveni also isnt very aggressive, i have him in a tank twith a 3" convict, 6" dempsey, some SD's and a 6" senegal bichir and no real aggresion problems. just the occasional get out of my cave thing going on.

when i had my sveni he was the king of the tank i got all these fish as juvies. 2 jags 1 oscar 3 firemouths and they were all the same size he grew to like 4 inchs then chocked on 2 rosies. he punked all the fish out but like any cichlid it varies from fish to fish. as you can see he was a beaut (profile pic) let him r.i.p. but now i got a compersicass or whateve so its all good
the one i had wasn't aggressive, either, but they are pikes afterall
I would say the same....75 at least would be ideal, but a 40 breeder or 55 would be okay, provided enough filtration and not crowded.
