i will be getting fish for my 29 by the end of this month probably after pay day.

so i would like to go over acclimation for sw fish i was thinking using air line to drip some water in a 10 gallon quarinteen tank till the slainity is same as the main tank then keeping the fish in the 10 for 3 to 4 days. sound good? if not tell me i need to know i am poor and fish are not cheap not to mention i dont want to be careless and kill fish.

That's a pretty good acclimation setup. I use the drip acclimation as well and I don't think there is a better method out there. I would say go with your plan...I will work just fine.

What are you picking up for fish??

That works, except keeping them in their for 3-4 days won't necessarily be long enough to show whether they have some kind of disease. I would go with 7 days, but as far as the drip thing, yeah, that's just fine.

You might still have to drip them again before you drop them into the main tank because the quarantine tank may not evaporate at the same rate so your salinity may not still be the same when you're ready to put the fish in the main tank. Compare the salinity again to make sure.

okay thank you. will the fish be okay in a 10 for a week with no filter? i would assume not.

How big are the fish? They may not be ok in an unfiltered tank even for 3-4 days. They should be ok if they're small fish and you do water changes every day to keep the ammonia levels down.
