hey, so i have a 150g fowlr tank with a 75g sump/wetdry/refugium, my fish used to be in the 75g but are currently in a rubbermaid container with a marineland canister filter rated for 125g and an inline heater attached to it running on it. i just got the 150 in the wall and wanna fill her up but im not going to be finished sump for another 2 weeks or so. if i fill up the 150g and put 120lbs livesand and 75lbs live rock (gettin more soon) and my fish (damsel, lawnmower blenny, chromis, clownfish) in with the canister and heater +another heater all at once, will the fish be alright when i add the sump onto it in 2 weeks? will the tank cycle again stressin out the fish? the sump is 2/3 refugium, 1/6 bioball w/d and 1/6 mechanical filtration and return pump area. i sorta want to get rid of my rubbermaid container setup seeing as it is in my dining room and quite an eyesore espiecially when all my family will be comin for christmas and i would like my big inwall 150 to be done for them to c, is it possible to pull it off b4 christmas?

If you set up the 150 with the canister filter on the container you should be alright. Watch the amount of food your putting in. Use as much of the old water as possible, it has BB in it too. You are rushing the 150 but I've done worst and had no negitive results. I may be missing some of your predictament but it seems if you asking to run a 150 with no sump for two weeks while cycling it with the 4 fish then adding the sump to cycle that. Sure why not.

id be cycling the 150 wit the canister filter and fish and lr, but wouldnt the cycle stress out the fish when the sump is added?

if you run the canister on it before you have the sump gonig, then you best get the sump done fast, because that canister wont keep up for long on its own. you will want to run both of them for a while untill the sump has a chance to cycle to the amount of fish you have. i think you will be fine as long as you use RO water and a good salt mix. dont rinse the sand before you add it or you will lose the beneficial bacteria in it. same goes for the rock, this will help you prevent a huge ammonia spike, but dont let the rock dry at all or you rish a small die off. that amount of rock and a small die off could be enough to make your tank a death trap. good luck and remember once you start you should be working 24/7 to get the sump done.
