So I've changed some stock around, I went from

tapajos pike x2
Parachromis loisellei x4
Severum x3

Now I have

Tapajos pike x2
Loisellei x2
Severum x3
Pearsi
Motoro stingray

Its turned ugly in the tank, the pikes lived peacefully with zero aggression for over a year with these fish. The pearsi is bigger than all the other fish, and acts like it...he's pretty pushy. And ALL is ganging up on one of the pikes and beating on it. They used to eat non-stop, now they barely will eat. There's so much darting and chasing that the ray stays hidden under the sand until dark. This has been going on for 3 days now...has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions I'm over looking? It doesn't look like any of then are getting injuries

Any time you add/remove cichlids to a tank there will be aggression as they work out their new pecking order. The fish had territories and a hierarchy that worked for them and that has all been changed now. Sometimes the aggression will die down once they all sort out their differences, but sometimes cichlids are completely intolerant of new additions and won't let them assimilate into the tank. If the aggression gets particularly bad to the point of injuries or constant hiding, you may have to remove fish.

I feel as tho I should have left things be...BUT as a hobbiest (with one tank, now) I couldn't let it be...had to push the envelope. I'll give it a few more days, supervised. Anyone with crenicichla 'ariupiuns' experience?
