So I currently have a 75gallon with a Gold diamond rhom, I have 2 HOB filters on my tank, I'm buying a fx6 an plan on using bio-home ultimate, and taking 1 of the HOB off when I hook the fx6 up, an using the other to help with biological bacteria till the fx6 is fully up an running... So my question is, should I take the filters from the established HOB an put it with the bio-home media to speed up BB growth?? Then take it out once the bb is established in the fx6? And my other question was, how long do you think it will take before I can run independently off the fx6 with enough BB to handle the nitrogen cycle??

Put all the old media from both HOBs into the fx6. This will fully seed your canister and allow you to remove both of the HObs on Day1. Remove parts of the old HOB media from fx6 over the course of the year as you service the canister. I wouldn’t remove all the old media until at least 1 year later.
