Swapping substrates

Is there a way to completely swap substrates without incurring a cycle? Thanks

Unless you are using an UGF as your main bio, just swap the substrates. Most of your BB is in the sump, the canister, the sponge, or the HOB.

Exactly, if your bio filtration (canister, sump, whatever as long as it isn't a UGF) is adequate adding/removing/changing substrate doesn't make a lick of difference IME.
