Day One
007-3.jpg

Had the pair in a ten gallon for 2 weeks, no breeding only fighting followed by courting followed by fighting. Switched them into a 20long and a week later they were cleaning and checking caves and this morning I found this. Water parameters are 0 across the board nitrites/nitrates/ammonia with a water temp of 79 and pH of 7.

What are you feeding the little ones to?
They are getting fed to two Polypterus endlicheri and one Mystus leucophasis

Day 4, wrigglers being defended by the female while the male patrols

Day 7 Free swimming fry driving both parents nuts

Day 6
You wouldn't know it by looking at this picture but 2 hours ago the parents had split the fry school into two groups on opposite sides of the tank and were savagely attacking one another to protect their fry schools

Wicked, the male will usually patrol the area and the female will stay with the eggs. At least that's how it is for me.

Yeah thats how it happened. Then I looked up today and saw that another pair has hatched out about 1000 babies. They are wigglers right now. I didnt even know they had laid eggs. I knew they were about to spawn with the way they had been acting.
