I put some algaefix or sumthin in my tank last night not a lot just to help with algae bloom... and 2 of my carpintis died and the other 2 are swimming around in quick circles sumtimes upside down when they move.. 3 of my FH died but the others are fine... i did water changes to rid some of the chemical. what else should i do? like epsom salt? as im writing this my carpitins just swam up and hit to light hard now hes upside down i think its done... should i just cull?

Water changes. Its too late now but I could of told you that algaefix or any of those algacides are harmful. Lots of people had negative results with them. Add carbon to the tank and do water changes. Could add some salt to help with the stress. Maybe turn off the lights to help too. Some times they can snap out of it, so I wouldnt euthanize them.

now i have to find this guy with the escondidos and get some more...[ sux

Sorry to hear that, this happened to me too. Luckily, I caught it early, threw carbon in the filter and did a huge water change immediately. So none of my fish died. Best of luck to you.

I wouldn't advise resorting to chemicals when attempting to correct a problem with snails, algae, etc. Always try to find out what exactly cause the problem instead of attempting to eliminate the problem itself. I second P_P's view on this.
