My newest Silver Dollar is lying flat against the waters surface. I can nudge the fish and it will swim around the tank vertically. All of it's fins are intact so I assume it has a swim bladder complaint.

Does anyone have any advice on treating swimbladder problems or anybody have a similar experience with one of their fish?

Anyone??

What are your water parameters? Foods given? Has this fish been harassed by other tankmates? Is it still eating well?

I read on several websites to give a frozen pea. Let it thaw out and squeeze the inside out for the fish and discard the skin. I don't know if this actually works but alot of people swear by it. I guess it will work if the fish is having problems with his intestinal track is what they were saying.

as far as i no their there's no cure
If the spot is a lymphocystis, then yes, there is no cure. The only way to avoid it from spreading further is cut off the tail and do daily water changes until the tail regrows and heals completely.

Lupin, I think you were getting carried away there.

Things appear a bit better this morning. I am guessing that the SD in question was greedy and had too many floating pellets thus affecting it's buoyancy in the water. I have heard of the frozen pea cure I think this works just as well as any high fibre foods i.e it cleans the system out.

That's what I read about the frozen pea. But that would only help if the fish was having a problem using the bathroom. Swim bladder problems could also be caused by bacterial infections and other things. Good to hear that he is doing better.
