Swimming pool filter sand for rays?

As the thread says, is that sand good for rays?

Im talking about silica sand. What sand do u recomend me to use? Quartz?

That'll be fine...I used to use leslie's brand and none of the rays have any "reddish" belly marking..

I also use pool filter sand at $7 a bag it was a huge cost saver when I first set up my tank. I have never had any red bellies on my rays either. I have 2 retics that just had their first litter of one tiny girl who is super healthy and no problems with her on the sand either.

Well, here in panama they are offering me 17 US dollars for a 50l bag. And is Silica sand

Is that a good deal?

I think it was retail $11 here but I knew the guy so I got it for $7 and he said they still made money on it. Can't say in Panama....
