Ud need a sump or canister but attatching it will be tricky. It would make a good quarintine maybe?!

Throw a bio tower in there with a submerged pump. be careful though it will be hard to cover so fish may jump and do u know if it has any treatment on the plastic to kill algae? a lot of people use specific pools or pond liners inside pools because some are treated and will release chemicals over time

Im not sure about what they use to clean it and theres other bigger pools but I dont got space for a larger pool. There is kiddie pools thats are hard plastic but arent as big.

I have used intex pools without a liner and without really rinsing them out too much.

I have done the bio tower method, but on my last intex, I actually made an overflow.

Then I just overflowed it into a large stock tank which I grew lettuce on (this was outdoors) and then that overflowed into a large brute that was filled with scrubbies with a two very powerful aerators at the bottom. that water was pulled from the bottom into a very large pump that was returned to the pool. I also ran the regular pool filter on it as well.

Ok cool thats good to know . I have a large pump for a sump I used it on my 29 fry tank as a return to 40 breeder

Ive been trying to figure out how to do a pool. I was thinking about using several smaller canisters around the sides. This will allow me to clean one and still have two or three more operational at one time.

Anyone know what brands of pools dont use fungicides and algae stoppers? I thought of just using a pond liner cut to fit. I have a 20 something gallon in storage that i may make into a refugium or sump.

Ha my filtratoin system was probably close to 200g.

But you guys arent doing a 6000g pool either.

I could post pictures if necessary...Ill try to keep an eye on this post. Doing this is possible. So long as the bottom doesnt inflate the bio tower is probably the easiest method.

When I did that I took a large garbage can, Filled it with scrubbies, had a tray up top with filter floss that doubled as a drip tray. The bottom had holes in it, and also was weighted down with a cinder block. Then a sump pump in the pool pushed water to the top where it was mechanically filtered by the floss, then dripped into the scrubbies, which actually also acted as mechanical as well as bio filtration.
