My SA setup was, prior to yesterday, a 55gal tank. I recently have gone on a HUGE eartheater kick, and managed to aquire some baby G. altifrons (only about 1" currently), and a trio of S. daemon (about 3" currently) - plus the already-existing George, my 'G. surinamensis' (we'll see what he actually grows into). There are also two Severums in the tank, and the male is getting rather big...so I decided the 55gal was looking a little crowded. My solution was to switch the 55gal SA tank with the 75gal Tang tank downstairs. Just a temporary solution, but they still have that much more growing space for now. My god, it was a lot of work! After about three hours, I finally got both tanks up and running again, and this is the 'new' South American 75gal community tank.

Still a little murky, hoping it will clear up in a couple days. Sevy in particular has so much more room, I think he's happy with the move ;)

The Tang tank, which houses a group of Inkfin Calvus, Kasakalawe compressiceps, and C. foai 'Karilani', is now the 55gal tank beside my computer.

Both tanks look real good but I like the 55 just a little more. :) What type of sand are you using? I think I might just keep my 55 and set it up somewhat like yours. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys :) reticray1, the sand in the SA tank is play sand I believe...I'm not positive, as it came with the tank when I bought it, but its definitely a chunkier-grain sand (which is good for the Geos, as they sift it through their gills and if the sand is too fine, it can be sharp and do damage). The sand in the Tang tank is the finest-grain silica sand, which is my personal favorite.

that sand looks awesome i agree. really like the second tank. the rocks are good too
