i have almost all my fish eating hikari gold pellets except one i have 1 green sevrum that tried to eat it once now only looks at it. is there any trick or something maybe don't feed him and he'll have to eat eventually?

any help appreciated

you could try not feeding it for a couple of days, then reintroduce the food....it works when trying to get fish to eat medicated food that is unpalatable

If the fish is with your other fish eating Hikari, just keep feeding your other fish, hopefully your non-eating fish will get the hint after watching the other fish eat for week and go after the food. If he is alone, try soaking the pellet for a minute or two in garlic extreme or the juice from frozen shrimp, blood worms, might help convince him to eat it.

If that's not the only thing you're feeding them I wouldn't worry too much.

Feed a mix of different foods: pelleted, frozen, freeze dried, and fresh/live. If the picky fish don't like what's on the menu for that day they simply don't eat until the next feeding. That's how I deal with the problem.

i try feed him again and he keeps putting it in his mouth but its like he doesn't know to brake it up and eat it lol and i never really bought the freeze dryed stuff whats good to get blood worms ?

If he is already taking them in his mouth, just keep trying. He should eat it eventually especially if he is already taking it in his mouth. I meant frozen bloodworms and you can get them at almost any petstore or LFS.

i usually feed my fish hikari gold freeze dry blood worms and raw shrimp i get yelled at for putting blood worms in the freezer so i have to stay away form the frozen stuff lol

Stuff the raw shrimp with Hikari Food sticks, the one with the aro infront of it. You can try it with the cichlid gold but not as easy as with the food sticks.
