I brought home a beautiful white 1" calvus about 2 weeks ago. I put him in a tank with some guppies, neons, angelfish, and a german red peacock that is also too small for my bigger cichlid tank. When I first got him home he didn't eat for like a day, when he ate his first bloodworms, and then I finally coaxed him onto the flake a couple of days later. The flake I was using was Tetracolor plus.
Anyways, I ran out of it and I wanted to get some better quality food so I bought some Omega 1 color enhancing stuff. Now Mr. Calvus won't touch it. He'll still eat the brine shrimp and bloodworms that I give him but he refuses the flake and I've never been able to get him to eat the pellets. Both of them he just mouths and spits back out. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this little guy to eat his veggies?

stop feeding him anything else for a bit. he will begin to eat the food. They can go a long while without eating. So do not fear starving. Try that and get him on pellets.

Agreed ^^^
