WOW. It's been a lonnngggg time since I posted here. I need to stop neglecting this hobby haha, I was thinking of switching my seaclear acrylic 29 to a glass one since the tank is scratched and kinda shabby, and my brain is pretty rusty on this. Do you think the stand would be able to support a glass tank and if I use some heavy rocks to rescape it? I was thinking of getting a really nice glass one and completely redoing the setup and then moving it to the living room.

It's made of like a really really lightweight pine or something, the stand weighs like 20lbs. I believe that the tank came with this stand although the previous owner said he built something on it. I just want to make sure it's gunna be safe if there's an extra 30 to 40lbs on there. There are no braces or anything under it. I'd rather not have to do another project but at the same time I'm too poor to buy a prefab stand lol.

Good lord my tank looks like trash rn. (Lol the moss on my pre-filter that I was too lazy to plick off of there and then the algae... oof.) I may be selling my 125 soon, just depends on if I have time. Life's been wack the last few years.

Yes it should (looks like hard wood and not MDF). A typical glass tank will have a plastic trim, and the stand only needs to support the trim of the tank (the glass is elevated from the bottom as a result). You may have seen glass tank stands with no middle on top, just a frame.
