Switching Tanks

My friend has a thirty gallon with a small aro which is filtered by an fx5. She plans on moving the aro to a 120 and use the same filter. Is it safe just to switch the filter and expect it to filter the larger tank?

Or should she cycle the new tank with a new filter.

The FX5 will work fine.

When I moved, I just transfered my fx5 to the new place, let the new water sit for a couple hours, and dropped fish in. It just depends on how much bio you have in there, and how long it's been running.

it will be fine just make sure you let stuff settle before turning it on or it will plugg it up.
