im moving my fish(some of them) from my 180.. to a 75 temarly untill my 300 is here

im useing same sump and media... do i just add tap water... or water from old tank?

thanks

id use all of the original water, and save all of the extra water that will be left over, you would probably want to use all of the water in your new tank:cool:

when I switched my big tanks they only water I kept was what would fit in the sump and everything was ok. If i was to do it over I would have saved some old water though.....

Save all the old water you can. If you are getting your new tank soon then try to put whatever spare water you have in a plastci trash can. Make sure you run an air stone in the trash can.

Yeah, I'd at least use the old water to fill the 75. If you could save all of it, that would probably be best, but as long as the 75 and sump contain cycled media and water, I think you'd be ok.

not to be a dick... but 'think" is ruff comment when u got over a k worth of fish stufeed into a small tank

Well then, I have over 1k worth of fish in my big tank and I KNOW! that they were ok with a 100% change. if you feel that they wont be then dont do a 100% change. save all of your old water and be on the safe side.....better yet. get them a bigger temp home! :grinyes:

ok ill get as much as i can
