Hey guys
well my lfs has finally gotten in some dats and they are being kept in brackish water, now I always thought they were fresh water fish so how can I convert them to fresh, I was thinking of taking them home, put em in a bucket and let fresh water drip in for 6 hours or more

these dats are tiny, and are the first I have ever seen im excited to get them and they also got spotted puffers which is also a first, I guess Ill have to set up a small brackish tank!

thanks!

I think they are IT or NGT they were incredibly unstable there

My LFS , always keeps tigers no matter what size in their brackish systems. I always tell them
Unless it's silver or ngt, to move them to FW.
Eitherway, I'd aclimate via a fast drip. When the box is full, empty about 70% of water and do fast drip again till box is full. If you want you can repeat, but I stop at this point and dump the fish in.
Should take about 90 mins.

No need to do brackish, most people keep in FW ..... I don't know anyone that keeps any tiger incl. Ngt or AT in full brackish in the uk. There are a few members here on mfk in US I think that use salt often in FW, but doubt the levels are anywhere near full brackish.

ok sweet, just the answer I was looking for, Im going to get as many of them as I can
thanks!

i second what ade said. i have indo, thinbar, and ngt in freshwater. Although i add a small amount of aquarium salt every other water change, it is definitely not close to being brackish. i have heard of someone on MFK keeping their silver in a brackish tank tho.
