Switching to frozen

I got a gator gar about 3 weeks ago at 5.5" and he is now pushing 9". He eats about 6-7 medium sized goldfish each day. I am going to try to get him on frozen food starting tomorrow. At what size is it safe to try starving him to get him to eat frozen? I have market prawns, silversides, and krill; which of these have you had the best success with?

market prawns worked well for me. My cubens just ate frozen food just the next day. should not be that diffcult to get gators to eating frozen food.

I really don't think it would matter since the chance of him starving himself to death is very slim.

I'm aware that he wouldn't starve himself to death, but I don't want to harm his health by stunting him.

I would start offering frozen foods while still giving it access to the feeders for now. Being a gator gar it should start eating the frozen foods in no time.
