Totally depends on diet.

If it was a well fed cuda it would never even look at the eel as a food source.

But if it was a starving cuda that was being fed something dead and unnatural then it will look at anything that moves as a food source.

What is his diet?

whole frozen silversides and krill sometimes shrimp i never really liked that eel becuase he would never show himself

Ha I guess you won't have to worry about him "showing" himself anymore...

BTW the only problems I ever had with my cudas was fungus. If they banged into a rock and got a scrape it would start to grow cotton. Within 2 days he would be gone. It happened a few times. I wish there was a way to post a pic without going through photobucket. I took one showing the growth.

Thats your problem.

Switch to live feeder fish, feed daily and never have to worry about another tank mate again.

As long as there 3/4 the cuda's length.

When a fish needs something, its gets it anyway it can.

wat type of feeders? i might have to switch anyway since i am going to be getting two tats in the tank

Am I the only one who reads 'swollen cuda' and thinks...nevermind.

You'll want to avoid feeders with thiaminase, and any fish you haven't quarantined or raised yourself. Most use hardy livebearers like guppies and platies, but there are more options around. Various worms and shrimp are pretty good and easy to raise. I understand ghost/feeder shrimp breed like bunnies. Snails are good, too and easier than helium to raise.

These fish are crazy...I had one at work, in with some baby oscars...oops. It didn't seem possible, but I had 5 baby oscars...about an hour later I only had 4, and a very swollen cuda. The oscars were about an inch shorter, but obviously a larger body width..it didn't even cross my mind he would snack on one.
