swollen eyes

Just noticed my silver arowana"s eyes are popping out a bit. other then that the fish is normal in appearance. What would cause this condition and how can it be treated? just did a water change yesterday. The diet consists of diced shrimp and tilapia. water temp is around 80 to 82 degrees fahrenheit. Anyone ever have a similar problem?

if both eyes are poping out its either dropsy or a kidney infection, Erythromycin should do the trick

he just said that it's his silver arowana. It might also be a condition called drop eye that affects many, if not most, of captive silver arowanas. Nobody knows the cause, so don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Some people think that it may be a result of injury, or a bad diet. It is irreversible without surgery, but other than looking ugly, doesn't affect the fish much

thanks Alex. I added salt and started different kinds of antibiotics yesterday evening. with the exception of the eyes still popping out the fish appears to be improving overall.
