what would cause a fire bellied newt to swell up. it's 4 times bigger than normal. looks and feels like a water balloon. i'll try to get pics.

The only thing I can think of is that it is some sort of liver problem. I've heard of that happening before.

bacterial infection???or may be giving it the rong type of food causing a metabolic disturbance,, i know that salt can help with this condition in fish,, or try unconditoned warter(it gives them the sh1ts),,but hold fire on the salt untill you get some more info off them that know, as newts are not my bag
