Swollen reddish anal fin?

I have a male poly ansorgii (~14 inches). I noticed that theres a reddish dwelling just on top of the anal fin, and doesnt match what ive see with other male bichirs. Wish to get opinions on possible causes and treatments.

hmm internal parasites are a good candidate, let's see what others have to say though I personally never kept ansorgii

Thanks. I just got this bichir. It was kept in a pond by the previous owner. Didnt observe any aggression (although it is certainly possible). The area seems less inflamed now but its still there. Any other opinions?
