Well, I got the bright idea to move all of my sword plants outside last week. I but all of them in pots and set them in my pond. I've noticed that my amozon swords now have bleached leaves. My red melon swords seem to be doing fine (they do have some algea growing on their leaves though) and my kleiner bar swords are starting to get some nice red color aswell. All of my sword are just below the surface and the pond is in full sun so I think that to much sun is the reason for the bleaching. Are there any other idea as to why the leaves are bleaching? Is there to much light? What should I do to prevent the bleaching? Thanks for the help.

What exactly do you mean by "bleaching"? Is the color change on all leaves, or external ones only? Iron deficiancy sometimes appears as plants leaves becoming translucent. Could this be what is happening?

The plants are adjusting to the more intense light. The new growth that comes out will be able to handle the new light.

All of the leaves are becomeing transparent. This is only happening to the amazon swords though. Should I test for iron? I just fill the pond with tap water and I'm sure theres iron in the tap.

I think it's just too much light too fast aswell. I'm going to move them deeper when they get bigger will this happen again when I do move them down?
