Sydno Decorus

I saw an interesting catfish in the lfs the other day. It was labled as Sydno Decorus, but does not look like any other sydno decorus I've seen on the net. it was bright yellow with black spots on it. Do they come in different colors?
I really want to get this guy..He would make a great addition to my 150g. He was about 4.5-5" long and was listed for $75.
Is that a good price?

Sounds like almost half a dozen different sp of Syno. Sounds like polli, multipunctatus, grandiops. Was there any white on the fins?

Decorus definately doesnt come in a variety of colors. My guess is that its something else. Pictures would be amazing. Any other distinguishing features other than yellow and black spots? Something tells me that at $75 that cat isn't going anywhere all that fast. Could be a hybrid, but my bet is its a real cat.

Never saw that variant before in a Deco. A good portion of Synos in LFS are hybrids now.

it could be showing really stressed colors and might make i.d. harder.
but, if you like the fish that much, and you feel its worth it, who cares what it is?

Both of my decorus are silver. Bought the first one @ 4" for $20 and the other one @ 2 in. for $12.
