The past two weeks I have noticed that my juvenile Sunset Orange Discus w/ Peppering has become buddies with my Albino Redtail Shark... during the day they literally check on each other and then sleep with each other every night. This Discus is real sweet and tame and will rub up against my fingers and jumps to the glass whenever I come to the tank. Occasionally the largest female White Skirt Tetra will lean up against the same Discus as well and nap. I have never seen this behavior before.

The other two Discus have pretty much paired off but all three do hang together during the day, posturing, prancing, and dancing around for attention and getting ready for the next feeding.

This is a new 85 Liter grow tank for three juvenile Discus (will transfer to a 300+ Liter in six months). About five weeks ago, after cycling, I added the three Discus with 5 White Skirt Tetra, 1 elderly Zebra Danio (a 4-5 year-old Glofish variant), and 1 Albino Redtail Shark (Epalzeorhynchos bicolor). They all are excellent tank mates and are getting along well.

I have had Albino RT Sharks before and find them to be far more civilized as a community fish than their cousin the Redtail Black Shark... so I took my time and picked out a relaxed friendly one... apparently with success, however I was ready to remove it to another tank if required.

I have tried twice now but Discus are super sensitive as soon as I get within camera distance of the tank... bam! they are all at the glass begging for food. Their eyesight is uncanny. I have to watch them sleep from a distance; hiding around the corner in fact... little boggers indeed. I will try again, because I have never seen Discus do this.

By the way, I like your Aro and Discus tank... very healthy looking specimens there.
