I bought this guy from Wal-Mart,from what i read they are only supposed to grow to 5 inches.Well i have had it for about a month,when i first got it it was about 2 inches,now he is at least 5 inches and can hold its own against any of my other fish,i wish i had a digi cam(to post a pic)but i dont.This guy is a brownish kinda green with spots,he has a tall fin on his back and he is kinda thick,could this be another kind of Syn????Any help is appreciated.Thanks!!!

Sounds like a syodontis eupteurs. I have one too, they are tuff little fish.

I have come across several of these guys at my local Wal-Mart with great delight they are a very hardy fish. You can't beat the price either, I think they sell them for about $3 most place ask about $13. Thank heavens nobody at Wal-Mart knows anything about fish.
