This fish is pushing 9". I've had him for about a year now. Does anyone know what sp he is? Also what is wrong with his head? Is that ammonia burn or what?

I just moved him to a new tank. He had a little castle type thing that he stayed in ALL day and just came out for a little bit at night. I I am thinking may the circulation wasn't good inside of it and ammonia and nitrites built up inside of it. He also BARELY fit in it and it just be from rubbing on it I guess.

That is what I thought, but someone said that they didn't think I would have one of those.

Anyways, whats up with that discoloration around his head?

looks normal to me, do you mean the bones of the skull?

no I mean the discolorationa round the neck. Its a lighter color brown.
