I thought they were just playing around as usual...but it turns out that my synos are engaging in spawning behavior according to someone who has bred synos. ( insert excited squeal here). If I got syno fry it would be the highlight of my fish-keeping.
Problem remains though I have no where really to remove adult fish to to protect the eggs. They still live with a few cichlids ( I think there's four left now) plus I think they eat their own eggs. My largest extra tank is a twenty gal long. I guess all I can do is stick in a bunch of my plastic fry safe plastic grass and hope some make it. And keep checking the used tank market for an affordable thirty-forty gal I could put under either of the display tanks.
