Hey guys, I got a syno eupterus that's been swimming on the side of the tank like this for days, he is not going up or down

Just now he thought to move and did this (2nd pic) only to move back to the position once more to the first position wich he is still in

So should I be worried ?

Ive known smaller catfish to do this when theyre stressed. Make sure there are plenty of hiding spaces for him. It sounds like hes fairly new to your tank... Hopefully he'll settle down.

Lol got him a long time (4 or 5 years) but indeed he's the submissive one of the two.
And I redecorated the tank a week ago and ever since he does this.
There are plenty of hiding spaces but he never goes near them (never did in al those years)

It does not sound medical. As you yourself said. It sounds behavioral. Perhaps he tries to swim around the tank at night and get chased by the dominant one so he learned one safe spot and stays there. 2-3 is a bad number with the territorial, riverine synos like the euptera. 1 or at least half a dozen usually works better. Still, there are cases reported where 2 euptera lived together for 30 years, so it is doable.

It could be possible but he almost always stays really close to the dominant one and they don't fight that much.

Like a beast ! Lol , they BOTH are really fat and have big round bellys.
And if I feed he eats but then goes back to hanging
