Syno killed my del... "(

God damnit... was attempting to do a good deed for a mate in helping re-decorate her tank... in doing so i have had to baby sit a few of her fish for a while...one of them being a freakin syno eruptus ( feather fin cat )...and as much as i hate them, this one was quite small and didnt seem like a threat...

I was aware that they try to suck slime coat of fish, so i monitored for the 1st two days and everything seemed fine...i also have a mate who had no probs with his syno and polys...also i have gibbys in with some of my polys and they are fine...so i thought it should be kool...boy was i wrong...:cry:

i noticed my del hiding and sporting a few scratches, and also noticed the syno annoying him...I immediately removed the syno, wondering to myself why i had even placed him in that tank!?!?!?:screwy::irked:

everything seemed fine after the removal...he was swimming around and apart from a few minor scratches looked just fine...im pretty sure i even saw him eating at feeding time...*phew*

Then i woke the next day to find him belly up!!!:cry:

I just hope none of you follow in my dumbass footsteps...( keeping in mind that i paid $500Au for my del...the going rate here...hurts losing a poly, aswell as $500 bucks!)

Thankgod the other polys in that tank are all fine...sigh*...im gonna go drown my sorrows in a bottle of JD's and possibly take to the filthy syno with a meat clever... ( j/k )

Sorry for the loss. I got my syno eupterus out of my bichir tank early enough to save the fish. It had done some damage to several but nothing severe.

btw, i have been sent a pm from a disgruntled forum user who is apparently offended by my use of the terms:

that is so messed up! and at $500 a poly? are you serious? you're either very wealthy or have a great love bichirs my friend. did your mate offer to help you replace the del?

in any event, sorry for your loss, bro.
