They survived the night. The territorial blue phsuedo trophus elongatus, seems to put up with them. I added three 1.5" synod cats. To my lower tank.

20171015_174113.jpg I got them at a fish swap meet here.
Picked up some assassin snails, they were all killed in 30 seconds, of coming out of their shells.

I put in 5 fry of a red peacock , about 1.3" long. Three got smart, 2 lasted about 46 seconds.

The synod cats, are the variety native to lake Malwai. So maybe it's in their genes, not to mess with the white spotted fish with poisoned tipped needle fins.

As I posted to you in another thread, your synos appear to be S. lucipinnis, which are native to Lake Tanganyika, not Lake Malawi. Outside the potential aggression from the mbuna, the synos may have a difficult time getting their fair share of food. It's not easy to compete at dinner time with aggro mbuna, so you should try to feed some smaller particles after the lights are out. Good luck.

Your correct once again. Thanks, they look pretty close to the inexperienced.
I wanted some to help, "clean up, after my wife over feeds" I have a lots, of flow, and a very efficient in sump mechanical filter, and very little substrate to handle the mess.

As long as you have hides for the synos to retreat to, you shouldnt have any issues. Just remember not to salt your tank and only use medication that is safe for scaleless fish.
