This is my Angelicus. He's an old guy!! A tad over 8". One of my favorite fish, ever. I wish their colors stayed as brilliant as they are when juvis.

I could be wrong but I have been under an impression that angelicus exhibit some variation in appearance, some have black base, some brown, some cream colored spots, some white, so the contrast and the color depth varies. Maybe you are right, it is the age thing. My old one looked the same. But I recall seeing photos of large ones that looked better, white spots on black skin.

Great score! That's a $70-$100 fish mixed in with $10-$20 fish.
Angie was about 10" to the fork base:
Bigger the better, your Angelicus is gorgeous. And a BRUTE!!! That's the largest one I've ever heard of!!
