Looking for some more info on these cool cats. Hopefully getting a couple in a few days. Anyone know their growth rate, temperament ect. Do any of my fellow MFKers keep these awesome cats???

Here is an image I found off google of these cool guys. I cannot wait to get mine!

They're one of my favorite looking synos. Never even seen one at any LFSs though, where's your source?

You'd have luck at PCF, I think. Ben, aka Amiidae, whose picture you took, is a regular prominent member there (as well as the owner of the PFK - Predatory Fish Keepers forum). At least several others I know there keep this syno and report on it.

Have you exhausted on-line sources?

Synodontis Clarias aka: The Red Tail Squeaker(love that common name), which suits them due to their unusual red tail and their habit of making squeaking noises when aggravated/defending territory. I currently don't have one but was thinking about picking up one myself and I can give you some brief info. First they're fairly uncommon for Syno's as in they're not seen available as often as many other SYno's. The only Syno's I see offered around the same infrequency are Moustache Syno's/S. membranacea and rarer still one of my dream fish as I've never seen it available is Synodontis granulosus which I've been asking vendors for since Infinite Aquatics was still selling regularly. As for temperament they will tolerate other Syno's including their own species as juveniles but grow out of that more calm demeanor as their size increases. Around the 4 inch mark they start becoming slightly belligerent more so with their own species and other Syno's to where I'd personally just keep them with no other Syno's. Other bottom dwellers and sometimes other fish period will see some aggression sporadically but not of any consequence to where I'd personally worry about it. Other then that they're quite typical for Syno's, fairly active and usually easy to observe omnivores.
