Synodontis Decorus Question.

Hey, I bought a Synodontis Decorus maybe 6 weeks ago from an online vendor. The fish didn't have its streamer on the dorsal fin. I suspected that it would grow back put weeks later it hasn't. Does anyone know if they grow back?

What size is it and is it possible that the extension was bitten off?

Its about 3.5" . It came with no streamer so not for sure why. Once i got it, it was in QT for a month with other synos and no re-growth whats so ever. Thanks for the link great info. Mine has the branched upper barbels, so if i read correct that is a sign its indeed a true decorus? Should the streamer still grow back or is it past that point? thanks.. sry for the dirty glass on the pics!!

The branches are ~10x smaller on the maxillary barbels. If you are sure your has got them, that a very good sign. Cannot tell from the dorsal as it is folded but the caudal seems striped.

Sometimes it takes a while for an extension to grow back. IDK whats and whys. Looks genuine to me but I am no syno expert. If you would like to make sure, clean the glass snap good pics and post on Planet Catfish.
