Are you counting the tail? I always count the tail, you are making me want to take him out of the tank and measure him forreal (I am comparing him to a known length only). Do yours have the white line down the side as well?

I think I have 6 of these. I will see when I rescape the tank how the smaller shyer ones are doing. I'm not very good at IDing Syno species, they look soo alike! I don't see them often as they live in the rock pile and eat food that falls back there away from the frontosa.

Here are some shots before I took them home, when they were at the shop I work at:

Of 5, 3 have grown substantially in just a couple months, one not so much and the fifth has only put on an inch. Previous to add these 5 there was one at about 8 inches in the tank already. They never interacted though the big one to the small ones. Now the bigger of the 5 have started to sit in the same tubes as him.

I'd like to add a school of kookoos as well but I'm unwilling to pay for them at the local prices.

The white line is interesting. I do not think I've ever noticed that on any before? Very nice Syno Portrait you have taken.

Thanks, To me yours look lighter in base color than mine ever did. I do have some synos that are light like yours but do not have quite as many spots/larger spots than yours. The synos do look a lot alike. I have multipunctatus and hardly ever see them.

The ones I've pictured above seem now more greyish than greenish as they have grown from the 1.5" they are in those photos, the spots have spaced out more also. I will try to take some photos of them now, but I have lost my camera battery charger and have been using my iPhone.

Sorry i don't know how.. but messed up that post... pc glich.. anyway here are mine.. they are as fat as they are long... don't bother taking yours out.. i probably underestimated mine.. and you know they are all different..

Did they look anything like these?

They look real good! I do notice a little bit of the "white line" that I was talking about earlier. I have a buddy with one and it has the same white spots/line aswell. I wonder what causes it?

edit: Sorry for the double post, not sure how to quote two people in one message.
